The GD11 integrates monitoring capabilities for methane, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, oxygen, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, acetylene, ethylene, temperature, humidity, and differential pressure. It is widely used for real-time surveillance of critical gases and environmental parameters in underground coal mines, refuge chambers, mining areas, and life rafts.
Equipped with a low-power programmable microprocessor and surface-mount technology, the sensor incorporates multiple high-precision sensing elements, including laser-based methane detection, non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) carbon dioxide sensing, and electrochemical sensors (for CO, O₂, H₂S, SO₂, C₂H₂, C₂H₄). It features keyboard configuration and an on-screen display, and supports RS485 digital signal output to transmit measured data to a central ground station for remote analysis, processing, storage, and visualization.
Designed for robustness, ease of operation, low power consumption, and stable performance, this product enables reliable monitoring and seamless data integration in various hazardous environments within underground coal mining operations.
①Core processing and communication
The sensor takes the microcontroller as the control core, processes the signals collected by each sensing element in real time, and completes the analysis, judgment and local display. When the monitoring data exceeds the set threshold, the device immediately issues sound and light alarms, and at the same time transmits the data and control commands to the central station and related control and execution equipment via RS485 bus, realizing remote monitoring and linkage.
② Gas Detection Principle
Methane Detection: Laser spectral absorption technology is employed. The sensor drives a laser diode to emit a specific wavelength of light, which passes through the target gas and is received by a detector. The methane concentration is accurately calculated by analyzing the degree of laser intensity attenuation.
Carbon Dioxide Detection: Based on non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) technology. Broad-spectrum infrared light passes through the gas chamber and is filtered and focused onto a detector. The CO₂ concentration is determined by measuring the intensity of infrared light absorption.
Other Gases (CO, O₂, H₂S, SO₂, C₂H₂, C₂H₄) Detection: Electrochemical sensing is used for all. The target gas diffuses through a membrane to the working electrode, triggering an electrochemical reaction that generates a current signal. The magnitude of this current is proportional to the gas concentration, which is then converted and output as a standardized concentration value.
